The thoughts of a tumwebaze

Ugandans!!!! November 18, 2010

Filed under: This is Life — delz @ 10:56 am

Yesterday evening, while i was minding my own business (ie picking up my baby from work), some Ugandan Hit me and drove off

Imagine in a jam, driving at zero speed, this guy decides he is in a hurry and tries to use the wrong lane to go wherever he was going but then bumped into my car when he saw a car coming towards him…. Surely i would have given him room…

I was so concerned abt the taxi on my left trying to squeez me off the road when i heard a sudden “boom” sound. Apparently the guy’s tire bust!

I was in so much shock, i just switched off the car engine and called my honey. Some dude has just hit me – driving a big car, a surf of all cars… Even told him the number plate and all.

The dude walks out, looks at his messed tire and doesn’t even bother to come and say sorry mum for stressing u… surely my ka tummy calls for extra kindness. But Wa! This ugandan left me in my shocked state and drove off with 3 tires… can you imagine!

Ok, tho my car guard is messed and i got badly scratched, he has to buy a new tire… talk about poetic justice. He’s new tire should cost him 3 times more than my repairs would cost me

Meanwhile some boda dudes, bambi this tym sympathetic ones advised me to call an officer who was near by… The officer rides past me on a boda… apparently to get some “tea” from the offender.

Helo!!!! It’s me, the victim that needs your help!!! Anyway after i had composed myself, i just drove into campus and picked up my honey and on our way back, we managed to find the officer and the 3-tire dude bargaining, Oba did he even care that a pregnant woman was almost hit… Hmmmm!!!

This is my country… Oh Uganda may God uphold thee!!!!

Memories from 24.01.09 January 25, 2010

Filed under: This is Life — delz @ 3:04 pm

Yes it has been a year and a great one at that, am sure the Lord is going to do far more for us this year…

Imagine gettin married in the middle of Jan, before you get your jan salaries.. and not having any debt, as in everything up to the pics in the studio were paid for before the wedding day…

How did we pull it off???? GOD… He did it all!!!

Now year 2 is here, plans – Believing and Trusting in the Lord for big things, will mention them as they come…

One favor please, don’t ask me about kids people… Am bored by that Jazz, no playmate talk and baby this and that, man, a gal needs space – We – the happy couple – are still enjoying every moment of marriage… Just the 2 of us!!!

Yesterday my honey took me out 4 breakfast (late) and dinner, it was awesome… Man the dude is not easy!!! Good looks and a great heart, i have no doubt he was God’s perfect will for me

Tonight we have a dinner… A few friends are taking us out, i do not know who exactly but i knw its going to be fun. I am so blessed by the people in our lives – our friends, on top of making the wedding happen, they are celebrating the anniversary with us

We are so Blessed…. Thanks for the love!

My attempt at donating blood January 15, 2010

Filed under: This is Life — delz @ 1:12 pm

Today has been awesome,

I went to look at the guys that were donating blood… then decided to try it out..

You know they have to check the blood, so i go to the first point, to check my blood, the guy looks at me and says “how old are u?” OMG, i am a mrs…. any way that statement made my day, it seems i do not look as old as i am

Someone  helped the dude and told him that i am a married woman, so he takes another look at me and asks how much a weigh…  first go check your weight then you come back… This man clearly was in denial, turns out i was 5kgs more than the minimum… perfectly ok!

So i do the test and he wasn’t convinced. Anyway he advised me not to give this time round

I don’t think i would have had the heart to give anyway, the prick for checking my amount of blood hurt so much, i kept wondering how much more the actual thing would hurt….

Maybe next tym!

Counting my blessings October 14, 2009

Filed under: This is Life — delz @ 9:42 am

This morning i stumbled across wedding meeting notes from our wedding meetings.. we used to get alot of money. I did not realise that at that time

I am part of many weddings of late and “sibyangu” . We used to get up to 5 times what the average couple gets in any one meeting these days kumbe ours was tight, in a season called a broke season, people were broke and so were we. But the Lord, our God did it! A beautiful big wedding with no debt but an excess of over 1m.

Just want to say thanks to everyone that made that day happen. I am grateful to God who uses men to bless his people

We are so blessed

Thank you Jesus

Driving!!!!! October 6, 2009

Filed under: This is Life — delz @ 6:29 am

This morning, i wonder what my baby was thinking but he made a risk – Left me the car keys so he can use a boda to work

I had delayed to do my morning chores so am guessing it would save time for him to use a boda and me drive to work, instead of having to drop me first then drive to his place of work

Anyway, all i kept telling myself was that “I can do all things in Christ” and “Nothing is impossible for them that believe”

I lock the house, get out, start the car… my legs in turn started shaking, whats with those bu-things… But i insist, am going to do this

Getting out of the gate was another thing, but Anatoli was faithful to instruct. Then i passed over the bump b4 the main road so smoothly, all i could think of was, i wish he was hear to watch… Then the mulago jam…. I have never been so attentive, My baby seems so relaxed while in a jam, and we can hold a conversation, but my eyes were glued on the taxi bump in front of me, lest i hit him.  I don’t know if i can talk to anyone while in a jam. At the round about, some woman driving a paj was oba practicing how to hoot and i happened to be the victim, anyway gave her room, joined all roads easily, dodged pots and arrived at work… Then there was this one thing i had to do.. PARK…. aya!!! My heart was racing but i guess i did ok.

Moses, the driver saw me and congratulated me on this great achievement… I walked in the office feeling like a super star! Thank you Jesus

Now i appreciate my baby’s music, it was nice, it has always been good but today i realized how soothing it can be when you are driving!

Last weekend – The Kasese trip August 24, 2009

Filed under: This is Life — delz @ 7:06 am

Oh my gosh, what a trip…

The plan was to use a bus on Friday, go to Fort then to Kasese  on Saturday… Hmmmm! Plans changed.

We drove to Fort with some guys… The journey was smooth, Charlie drove well… Only that every time we stopped a little or reduced speed we would smell tires burning.. but thought people in the area seem to like to burn tires a lot. Turns out that they were our tires.

On reaching Fort portal, we find out that we have to take guys to Kasese, i wasn’t amused but my sweetie drove them there and got back.. we had a nice evening with CT, i love that place, its so warm and peaceful. Wish i could relocate.

On Saturday, met up with the rest of the crew and off we went to kasese, linked up with rakeli an jose and chose to pash in their hotel not verina, which has small beds, we needed something big enough..

Now the villa was like an hours drive from kasese town and its deep in the mountains and there were about 1000 or more guests… haha.. we got there at 4, speeches started, nanti it was a give away… The gals dad even broke down… that was sweet-sad.

Then the people started eating and when they were just about done, we were called to go and eat also- that was at about 6:30

Anyway we left at about 8pm, got to our rooms almost 10 and hung out a bit with rakeli and jose b4 we retired to our rooms…

We left Kasese at 8:00am for Kampala over loaded. On the way back, a tire burst but thank God it happened in Fort… Dad was there to come to the rescue… Helped us get new tires and get organised, we left fort at 2:30pm. While stuff was being done, our ride mates were doing shopping and appeared with 2 sacks of food… that was … fani, the space in the car was hardly enough but thankfully, the second car had roo to carry the new extra laguage.

Finally got home at 7:00pm

I have learnt a lot on this trip.. Whose word you can count on and how to be careful not to say yes to every request that comes your way

Oh and today we celebrate 7 months of marriage. It’s been amazing and we are going stronger each day.

Thank you Lord for family and friends that care.
